The past few months have certainly been challenging but the light at the end of the tunnel is near and our management and staff are counting down the days until we can welcome you back to each of our venues.

From 11th October 10am the following Clubs will be re-opening:

• Fox Hills Golf Club
• Penrith Golf Club
• Pennant Hills Bowling Club.

Our construction team at Seven Hills RSL have been working hard behind the scenes, and due to ongoing renovations we will be re-opening our Seven Hills RSL venue on Saturday 16th October at 10am. Stage 1 of our fantastic renovations is worth the wait and we look forward to introducing you to our new facilities. Please note, anyone requiring lift access will need to use the new Club entry on Level 3 near the staff parking (near William St exit).

COVID SAFE
All our staff have been fully vaccinated for your safety. As per the NSW Government Health Orders, Clubs are required to verify the vaccination status of any patrons over 16 years of age. Only fully vaccinated patrons will be allowed into each of our venues at this time (proof of double vaccination will be required).

PROOF OF VACCINATION
Upon entering each of our venues you will need to present your COVID-19 digital certificate or your Immunisation History Statement. You can download your COVID-19 digital certificate using:

• the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
• your Medicare online account through myGov.

You can then add your COVID-19 digital certificate to your smartphone Apple Wallet or Google Pay for easy access.

You can access your Immunisation History Statement online or if you can’t get proof of your vaccination online call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 and ask for your immunisation history statement to be posted to you. It can take up to 14 days to arrive in the post.

To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, NSW Health have implemented Sydney-wide lock down measures from 6pm today (26 June) until 11.59pm Friday, 9 July.

Everyone in Greater Sydney must stay at home unless it is for an essential reason. Due to the mandatory stay-at-home orders announced by the NSW Government, Seven Hills RSL, Pennant Hills Bowling Club as well as the clubhouse for Fox Hills Golf Club and Penrith Golf Club will be closed until further notice.

This is an opportunity to keep our staff, members and the wider community to stay safe and well at this time. We look forward to welcoming you all back into our venues as soon as the time is right.

In light of the latest announcements made by NSW Health, please be advised of the updated Covid-19 restrictions that apply to our venue:

• Members and Guests must wear a mask in all indoor areas (unless eating or drinking). We have free masks available at Club reception and cashiers.
• Standing is only permitted when moving around the Club or ordering food and beverages. Patrons must be seated when consuming beverages and meals.
• Capacity limits have been updated to be a maximum patronage of one person per four square metres.
• Mingling, dancing and singing is not permitted.
• If you live or work in City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, and Woollahra local government areas, please do not enter our venues
• If you have recently visited a hot spot venue of concern on an applicable date and time, please do not enter our venues.
• If you are feeling unwell, particularly with cold or flu symptoms, please do not enter our venues.

There are currently no changes to our weekly activities or promotions schedule.

• Our Cash Case Members Giveaway jackpot has reached $1000 and must be won tonight in addition to our usual $1,500. Winners drawn from 7pm.
• Our major end of month raffle, Ribs, Roasts & Raffles will still proceed this Sunday – On sale from 5pm.

Please rest assured that we are continuing with our regular Covid-19 health and safety practices of signing in and out all members and guests, rostering a COVID safety marshal on each shift and an increased cleaning and sanitisation roster.

As we continue to grow and redevelop our Club, we understand that there is a lot of curiosity and excitement regarding the renovated areas of the club yet unseen. With that said, we thought we should share a glimpse of what’s going on behind the scenes to provide insight into how things are progressing.

With environmental sustainability top of mind for Australian businesses and families, Seven Hills RSL and Integrated Projects knew early on that we wanted to incorporate green-building initiatives as a key priority in our Club’s redevelopment plan. From the outset, environmental strategies were integrated into the design of our new club.

SOLAR ENERGY

Seven Hills RSL will be installing 300 solar panels (100kW) which should cover most of our new roof surface in Stage 2 of our renovation. Solar power is a great sustainable, green energy choice. Using the sun to generate more of our power means less harmful toxic emissions into the air we breathe from burning fossil fuels. It has huge benefits for our planet; and will also significantly reduce our electricity bills. It’s a win, win!

95% of our demolition waste has been recycled.

MINIMAL WASTE

Building materials account for almost half the solid waste generated worldwide. Integrated Projects have made every effort to ensure that our waste is kept to an absolute minimum during our build. Since the start of our renovation, 95% of our Club’s demolition waste has been recycled instead of becoming landfill. Less landfill means less toxins, leachate and greenhouse gases damaging our environment.

RAINWATER TANKS

Clean water is one of Australia’s most valuable natural resources. To help reduce our impact on the environment Seven Hills RSL will be installing two rainwater tanks with a combined storage capacity of 164m3. Rainwater collected from our tanks will be used to irrigate our landscaped gardens to ensure they stay green and healthy after being planted. Additionally, the rainwater will also be plumbed into our Club bathrooms to flush the toilets which will save precious mains water and significantly reduce our water bill.

STORMWATER DETENTION TANKS

Incorporated into the Club’s redevelopment will be two On-Site Detention (OSD) tanks with a combined storage capacity of 155m3. Our OSD tanks detain and hold storm water run off on a temporary basis and then slowly releases the water to the ground or storm water system. This reduces the potential for flooding to occur and reduces the risk of creek erosion in our local area.

SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

Sadly, Australia is one of the highest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions per capita in the world, one way we can reduce this environmental impact is by choosing to use sustainable building materials. Here are some of the sustainable and green building materials we have chosen for our Club renovation:

• Recycled timber beams are being used in the Dining Terrace.
• Recycled bricks from Australia’s oldest brick recycler, Brickpit, are being used in the Dining Courtyard.
• Corian vanities will be used in our new bathrooms. They have proven to be extremely safe as surfacing materials, with minimal impact on indoor air quality.
• Timber flooring in the dining lounge will be sourced from Woodcut. Woodcut have partnered with Carbon Neutral and plant more trees each year than they use on their projects via their Plant-a-Tree program.
• White Mahogany timber frames will be used in the partition screens throughout the Club as well as the glazed wall in the future Dining Courtyard.
• Woodtex insulation being used has no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) or Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).
• Equitone cladding will be used in the alfresco area. Equitone panels are 100% recyclable, require low maintenance and have a long-life expectancy.
• Alpolic cladding will be used on our new façade along Best Rd. All materials and production waste used at ALPOLIC^TMare 100% recyclable.

First impressions are everything and it’s fair to say that for many years our Club’s street appeal has not quite reflected the welcoming and modern atmosphere you feel once you set foot inside our doors. We’re excited to announce that works have commenced on the creation of our new Club facade.

The new Club exterior will feature a mix of copper, bronze and white Alpolic cladding, perforated bronze mesh screening, vertical Knotwood battens and floor-to-ceiling windows to create a visually stunning architectural statement.

Scaffolding has been erected across the left exterior of the Club on Best Rd, however our club car park is still accessible from Best Rd & William St.

New Wheelchair Ramp 

If you have visited the Club in recent weeks, you may have noticed hoarding has been installed opposite the top of our escalators as you enter the Club’s main floor. Behind closed walls our construction team are building a new wheelchair ramp and stairs to access our upper lounge area. Once complete, this area will be dressed with stone cladded planter boxes filled with artificial greenery to brighten up the Club’s interiors.

Dear Members and Guests,

In line with the latest advice from NSW Health, we will be implementing the following COVID-19 safety measures until Midnight on Sunday 16 May:

• All customer-facing staff will be wearing masks
• Masks will be compulsory in all indoor gaming areas of the Club. Members and Guests are allowed to remove their mask while eating and drinking.
• Drinking while standing up will not be permitted.
• Singing and dancing will not be permitted.

TAXI DROP

If you are being dropped off at the Club by Taxi, Uber or a fabulous friend or family member, the Taxi Drop Off point is via the main entrance to the Club on Best Road as per the map below.

DISABLED PARKING & ACCESS

From Monday 7th September the new disabled parking area is located on the back wall near the entrance to Club Reception. Please access these parking spaces from the new William Street entrance. A new ramp has also been constructed in the Club foyer to facilitate disabled access into the Club from that entry point.

PEDESTRIAN ENTRY

As can be seen from the map below, access to the Club will remain the same if travelling to the Club by foot.
