ClubGRANTS

Supporting the community that supports us.

Seven Hills RSL has always believed in supporting the community that supports us.

We are pleased to say that this year our contributions, donations and sponsorships remain as important to us as they always have been. With over $2,480,000 worth of grants donated in the past 10 years, our funding has played a vital role in backing valuable projects for the neighbourhood. We are proud to give back to the community that we belong to.

The Seven Hills Group has a strong commitment to the community under the ClubGRANTS scheme formerly the Community Development Support Expenditure Scheme. This is a funding process by which the club industry supports an extensive range of community groups.

The ClubGRANTS Scheme operates through local area committees to ensure that available funding is used to its maximum benefit.

As an active member of the Blacktown City Council ClubGRANTS Committee the club always endeavours to extend financial and “In-Kind” support to locals in need. The Seven Hills Group also supports a range of community groups at its own discretion.

This work ranges across the spectrum, in areas which include special education, health, disability support, domestic violence, migrant resources, crime prevention and sport.

A full rundown on the ClubGRANTS process, including guidelines, application processes and downloadable forms can accessed through the ClubsNSW website at www.clubsnsw.com.au.

Through the ClubGRANTS scheme, we have made donations to a variety of worthy causes in the local area:

Royal Life Saving NSW

Royal Life Saving works to prevent drowning and facilitate healthy, active lifestyles by equipping all Australians with water safety skills.

We are thankful for the opportunity to see the Preschool Water Safety Project we funded in action at First Grammar Seven Hills. This interactive and educational program teaches the kids vital water safety skills to increase their awareness of the dangers associated with familiar aquatic environments.

In 2022, we donated a total of $84,000 and have donated a total of $607,658 since 2009.

Defence Community Dogs

Defence Community Dogs provides highly trained Assistance Dogs to Australian Defence Force Veterans. Trained in specific tasks to support mood, depressive and anxiety disorders including Post Traumatic Stress. The dogs who graduate from the program help Veterans to rebuild their lives – and literally save their lives.

Last year, we donated a total of $60,000 and we have committed to a total of $300,000 over the next 5 years.

Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation
Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation was founded in 2008 and is the peak body for those living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy in Australia. Our vision is to find a cure for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy whilst actively working to ensure enhanced quality of life for those young people and their families affected by this condition.Through Club Grants, we donated $8,000 in 2022 and we have donated $64,500 since 2019.Over the years, our General Manager, Joseph Bayssari, has also raised over $160,000 on the Walk For Duchenne through donations and fundraising.
Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation

Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation evolved from the Kings Cross Rotary Club 1990’s ‘Home and Away’ project, which provided emergency transport for the young, the elderly and the disabled needing to get to and from vital medical appointments.

In 2021, Seven Hills RSL  donated a new Medical Transport Vehicle to the Sir Roden & Lady Cutler Foundation. Free Medical Transport is now available to all eligible members.

Last year, we donated $15,000 and we have donated $39,735 since 2021.

The Combined Churches of Mt Druitt Christmas Luncheon
The Combined Churches of Mt Druitt hold Christmas Day Lunch (25 December) for those in the community that may be experiencing loneliness or just cannot afford the Christmas Day Lunch that most of us take for granted. An abundance of food is served by trained volunteers along with gifts that are given free of charge to all those who walk through the door. Our desire would be that all people would have somewhere to go on Christmas day, to be with family and friend or just familiar faces that have been there for the past 17 years. In 2022, we donated $4,500 and since 2009, we have donated $42,550. We plan to continue supporting this community to assist and serve.
