Supporting DCD Program

Supporting the Defence Community Dogs Program

Seven Hills RSL Club is a proud sponsor of Defence Community Dogs, sponsoring 4 DCD Assistance Dogs to date and so far, have been allocated with Cassie, Condo and very recently Alma, through the Club Grants program since 2022.
Defence Community Dogs is an independent program that provides highly trained Assistance Dogs at no cost, to Australian Defence Force (ADF) veterans who require physical and emotional support for mood, depressive and anxiety disorders, including PTSD.
The training of these dogs occurs at Bathurst Correctional Centre, facilitated both by professional dog trainers and incarcerated individuals engaged in recovery programs. Veterans who have received Defence Community Assistance Dogs consistently report that their dogs are invaluable to their rehabilitation process.
Through rigorous training and dedication, these dogs play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of ex-serving Australian Defence Force members, helping to rebuild lives and provide a renewed sense of purpose.
